First time buyers should remember the Government’s concession on stamp duty, which is not currently payable for first time buyers purchasing property to the value of £250,000.00 comes to an end on the 24 March 2012.  To take advantage of the current concession, any purchase transaction must have completed (and not simply exchanged contracts) by 23 March. So if you are looking to buy your first home, you need to be making your decision now and instructing your chosen solicitor as quickly as possible to try and meet the deadline!
