Our fees explained

If your separation is amicable and both parties wish to divorce, we consider that the divorce process is straightforward and we are committed to keeping our costs to a minimum. Many set fees are calculated taking into account the complicated and simple cases with everyone paying the same fee. Nominal costs are made on the complicated cases, which are compensated for on the simple cases. If your divorce is a simple process we do not feel that you should pay expensive legal fees. If, however, your divorce becomes defended or there are problems, we feel you should be charged separately only for the additional work necessary.

Please note that it is possible to claim your legal costs from the Respondent. If the Court makes an order that the Respondent pays your costs, the Respondent will then pay your legal costs and his/her own legal costs. In many amicable divorces each party agrees to pay their own legal costs. It is always more expensive to be the Petitioner in the proceedings rather than the Respondent as the Petitioner has to pay the Court fees. You may, therefore, be able to agree with your spouse that you divide the Court fees between you. Our costs to you are set out in the Terms and Conditions enclosed. We confirm that we will not charge you more than is set out in the terms and conditions and will always notify you in advance should additional fees need to be charged.
